Mauritius launches premium visas for a long-term stay

Mauritius introduces a premium tourist visa, which will be valid for a long-term stay on the island for up to 1 year. This measure aims to attract travelers to the island and fully enjoy Mauritius's nature while maintaining security measures in COVID-19 conditions. Everyone staying on the island can be sure of their safety: Mauritius has one of the lowest morbidity rates globally and even very few cases, and a long-term stay, which is expected to be a new type of visa, will ensure safety and minimize the risk of new cases.

To obtain such a visa, interested visitors must present documents confirming their long-term stay plan and tourist and medical insurance for the entire period of stay.

Visa can be obtained by:
- applicants whose income is not related to Mauritius,
- an applicant with a clear plan of stay on the island (you need to provide a plan of stay, hotel reservation, and other supporting documents).
The e-Visa online platform will be made available soon.
